TNR PROGRAM
Our TNR (Trap-Neuter-Return) program at Cris Cat Rescue is a vital initiative aimed at addressing the issue of cat overpopulation in our community. Through this program, we trap feral and free-roaming cats, provide them with necessary medical care, including spaying or neutering, and then return them to their original location.

ABOUT CRIS CAT RESCUE
OUR STORY
The story of Cris Cat dates back to Andrea Carrizo’s brave work rescuing animals in Argentina throughout her life. However, when she moved to the United States, her brother Cristian remained in Argentina and faced a battle with cancer. During Cristian’s terminal hospitalization, Andrea rescued a street dog and brought it from Argentina to North Carolina.
After relocating from North Carolina to South Florida, Andrea encountered the pressing issue of the overpopulation of stray cats, characterized by negligence, abandonment, abuse, and mistreatment. This inspired her to join CATTI (Cat Advocates Team for TNR Implementation) and became one of the most active rescuers in Miami-Dade County.
Many of the cats captured under the Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) program couldn’t be returned to their original locations for various reasons, such as health issues, disabilities, safety concerns, and age. This led to the establishment of the Cris Cat sanctuary, a refuge designed to provide care and protection to those cats in need of a safe and loving home.
The Cris Cat sanctuary became a project dedicated to offering medical care, nourishment, shelter, and enrichment activities for these deserving cats. Furthermore, Andrea and her team work tirelessly to find responsible and permanent adoptions for the felines under their care, ensuring they find committed families who will provide them with a forever home.
Cris Cat is a story of love, dedication, and overcoming obstacles, where each cat is treated with compassion and respect. With the support of generous volunteers and donors, Cris Cat continues its mission of making a difference in the lives of these helpless felines, creating a world where all cats are valued, protected, and unconditionally loved.
